Art and music have sustained my life. Growing up I played the piano and during my highschool years I got into painting. While I was studying psychology at UC Santa Cruz I discovered that I was loving my art classes the most, and my professors thought I showed promise. At that point I switched to making painting my main focus in life and I've never looked back.
Many years later now, I still enjoy the process tremendously. I'm fortunate to be retired from various day jobs and to be able to spend as much time as I like in my gorgeous painting studio in the Hudson Valley.
When I start a painting I never know what it will look like when it is finished. I build up many transparent layers slowly until I see form emerging. I look to create an illusion of 3-dimensional space and movement. In that sense you might say that I create rhythmic abstract land or space-scapes.
